Canada Western Chinese students survey report

Present in nearly 40 million overseas Chinese students studying abroad, about 5 million people in Canada. Canada in many ways similar to its South of United States, immigration policy, relatively relaxed compared with the United States. The Canada learning students are likely to find work in the South to the United States, but also relatively more opportunities to immigrant status in Canada. But even in this environment, every year there are many Chinese students who have finished their studies. In order to gain insight on Canada's Chinese students studying abroad, in early 2001, in the Consulate of China in Vancouver education group initiatives and organizations, from the University of British Colombia (UBC) and Simon Fraser University (SFU) of Chinese students and scholars Association lead, Canada West Bank located in the six universities of Chinese students and scholars with a questionnaire. The basic situation

• The age and gender composition

The respondents ' 55% of men, women accounted for 45%. From a structural point of view of age to young and middle-aged, 40 percent of the total number of persons under the age of 84% of respondents.

● Motives abroad
